October 26 -- Special Halloween Game Night

We gathered at Brian and Shelly's house for a night of good food, gaming, Brian's birthday, and too much cake. We were Brian, Shelly, Jeff, Romeo, Rich, Tom, and two newcomers -- Cade and Darren. We played mostly spooky games -- Gloom, Fearsome Floors, and Betrayal at House on the Hill -- plus a game of Ra! to fill up an open slot. Good times!

  1. Happy pre-birthday!

    I can bring:
    Last Night on Earth
    Mall of Horror
    Buffy: tVS
    Techno Witches
    Ghost Party

    Sounds fun!

  2. Sounds great. I'll have Fearsome Floors and (if the game gets released in time), Betrayal at House on the Hill.

  4. All you have to do is to show up and play games!

  5. Hi Joseph, all you need to do is show up. That said, it would be good if I were to get your email address, so that we can include you in any broadcast email reminders. If you're a member of boardgamegeek, you can send it to me there. I'm "Hobbes." Or just find me at the Round Table event on 10/12 and I'll get it from you then.

  6. Brian, as it's your birthday, any Halloween requests from me? And are we going to play Betrayal?

  7. Hi Steve, I'll have Betrayal set up to play and will also have Gloom and Fearsome Floors available. The games you listed sound good too. I'll send an email to everyone this weekend.

  8. One thought. How about bringing Poison? That's got a horror theme and is a pretty accessible filler.

  9. Bringing Poison might result in death.

  10. I had a hunch a group like this might exist, so I searched Davis Wiki on a whim. I'd love to come play games with you guys. I gather that I just show up?

I'd be happy to bring games, but I imagine you might be tired of most of my titles. I have a few oddballs, e.g. Red November, but it's mostly semi-mainstream Euros like Catan, Pandemic.

  11. Hi Cade,

We're a pretty informal group, so just showing up to play is fine. Though you're more than welcome to bring games that you like to play. A few things worth noting:

    (1) Romeo is a smart-ass.

    (2) The next event is at my house. We have a dog, in case you're allergic.

    (3) We're hoping to play horror-themed games, since it's just before Halloween.

    (4) The best way to stay in touch is to send me email at davisboardgamers@gmail.com. Then I can add you to the list for email broadcast messages. I prefer email when giving out people's home addresses etc.

Hope to hear from you soon.
    Brian

  14. Romeo, are you going to be able to make it tomorrow night? Email me if you need my address.
