We had a combination game night and election watching party.
And I'm happy to report that the good guys won! (The X-Wing squadron wiped out three TIE fighters, while the fourth fled the field just short of destruction. Lord Vader was heard to grumble about the luck of the dice.)
I won't comment on the real world contests that got resolved last night, since Davis Board Gamers is not of one mind on politics and it would be impolite to use this forum to offer a soley personal perspective.
(Woot!)
We had a smallish group (Anthony, Brian, Dagon, Erica, Jeff, Paul, and Shelly). We played Star Wars: X-Wing, Glory to Rome, and finished with Parade.
Game on.

October 23 Game Night
I'm told this was a small turn out -- Anthony, Dagon, Erica, Jeff, Paul, and Steve. They played Cosmic Encounter (x2), Kingdom Builder (x2), and Mr. Jack.
Sounds fun!
Sounds fun!
October 9 Game Night
Small turnout for this one: it was just Anthony, Brian, Dagon, Erica, Paul, Shelly, and Steve. We opened with two tables of hex-based 3d jungle building: Java and Taluva. Paul set a new record for longest turn ever, taking maybe 20 minutes on his final scoring in Java. Dagon and I chilled in the other room and played with the dog, so no worries.
Meanwhile, the others played Taluva and then Alhambra.
We closed with a six player game of Parade. (Hint, it's better with fewer players -- quicker, with more control.)
Fun was had.
(I'm still determined to play Liberte soon. Maybe I'll try to set up an extra session for it.)
